We are proud to present ourselves as pioneers in the research and breeding of THC-rich cannabis plants in Switzerland. THC is the psychoactive ingredient of the cannabis plant.
Since 2020, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has approved various extensive series of experiments on the selection of THC-rich cultivars in organic cultivation under Swiss climatic conditions as well as on drying and storage.
Thanks to our many years of development work within the framework of various exemptions from the BAG for research into THC-rich cannabis, SwissExtract is a pioneer in this field and has been able to produce some exceptional THC varieties.
SwissExtract guarantees
Our THC-containing plants are grown according to the strict GACP guidelines (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) and in compliance with the Swiss organic regulations. This not only guarantees the purity and quality of our products, but also compliance with the highest standards in agricultural practice.
In August 2022, the ban on cannabis for medical use was lifted. This change in the law means that the cultivation, processing, production and trade of medical cannabis will be subject to Swissmedic's licensing and control system - just like other narcotics used for medical purposes.
The commercial export of cannabis for medical purposes is also now permitted.
THC for non-medical use, however, is still generally prohibited, except in the context of pilot projects in Switzerland.
We have had an operating license to grow medical cannabis since January 2024.
This allows us to offer our customers high-quality THC raw materials for further processing,
to meet the specific needs of patients.
